Description of the material
The Jumping Garden is a card set with station cards that allows you to set up a variety of jumping stations in the sports hall for primary school and older students. At the stations, learners can jump from hoop to hoop, jump off the mini trampoline onto the soft floor mat, or climb up the wall bars and jump down. Each card shows the focus of the station, the required equipment, the task, and a setup sketch at a glance.
What is included in the material
- Station cards for rhythmic jumps, long jumps, high jumps, and jumps from height, as well as accurate and supported jumps
- Introduction with a foreword, explanation of the station cards, options for organization, and an overview for varying the jumps
- Safety instructions with an overview of which mats are suitable for point and area landings
- Station labeling with numbered signs for the stations
- Scorecard for checking off the completed stations
Tips for using the material
- As a jumping course: The stations can be combined into a course with a fixed route that the learners complete in a predetermined order.
- In a closed station circuit: Small groups can spread out to the individually set up stations and move on clockwise after three minutes each.
- As open stations: The learners can decide for themselves which station they want to try and when. Depending on the learning group, you can set the requirement to try each station at least three or five times.
- As a challenge: On the scorecard, the learners can record which stations they have completed. At some stations, the distance or height can also be measured, and an evaluation can be carried out at the end.
- Vary the jumps: At many stations, the jumps can be modified, for example, with both legs, only with the left or right leg, in a squat, stretched, spread-eagle, or with a twist.
These skills are promoted
- Jumping power and explosive power through long jumps and high jumps
- Rhythm when jumping over benches and gymnastics bars or from hoop to hoop
- Accurate landing on marking discs, carpet tiles, or in a bicycle inner tube
