Description of the material
This value pack combines Brennball games for physical education, from the basic game with over ten variants to equipment Brennball with an obstacle course. Sometimes a basketball hoop becomes a Brennball target, sometimes four children carry a gymnastics mat together across the running course, and sometimes the route takes them over boxes, parallel bars and benches. No great athletic prowess is needed for this, which is why mixed groups in primary and secondary school also enjoy playing. In equipment Brennball, each setup has its own card, and the small groups set up the hall together in a short amount of time. If a tournament is held at the end, whether in grade 3 or in the upper secondary level, the appropriate certificates are already ready.
This is included:
- Brennball variants with game instructions and setup sketches
- Equipment Brennball with a setup plan and setup cards
- Brennball certificates for placement, participation and fair play
You can fill out the certificates on the computer or use a version with blank fields to fill them out by hand.
Uses in physical education
- In a Brennball series, you can start with the basic game and add a new variant lesson by lesson.
- Equipment Brennball can conclude a gymnastics series if boxes and parallel bars are already in the hall.
- Baseball Brennball can pave the way to actual baseball.
- A tournament before the holidays or at the sports day can end with an awards ceremony where the fairest team also receives a certificate.
Learning objectives and skills promoted
- Throwing and catching: throw the ball accurately into the field and quickly pass it to a teammate in the field team
- Running and overcoming: time the right moment to start and overcome obstacles on the running route
- Game decisions: assess when it is worth running to the next mat
- Fairness: follow the rules and experience fair play as a team effort
Didactic and methodological tips
Before the first ball is thrown in equipment Brennball, it is worth taking a walk around together: Is every box locked in place? Is every piece of equipment securely positioned?
Differentiation
In Cooperative Brennball, children who would otherwise rarely get a chance to play with the ball are right in the middle of the action. Boxes, parallel bars and mat mountains can be adjusted in height to suit the group.
You can find more game ideas for the hall in the Dodgeball variants, the Zombieball variants and the Mat games.
Have fun trying them out and at the next Brennball tournament!
