Match! Winter Edition: Festive Relay Race for PE Class

Match! Winter Edition is a festive relay race for physical education in which two teams race to find picture cards with winter and Christmas motifs. When two cards are face up on the box, the children look for the symbol that appears on both. The first child to correctly name it may take one of the two cards for their team.

Tips for using the material

• As a relay race: After each duel, both children immediately run back and tag the next team member. The game leader can then place a new card on the box so that there are always two cards face up. Each card won earns the team one point, and the team with the most collected cards wins.
• As a running duel: Instead of a relay race, two children can also compete against each other in a running duel, with a new starting signal after each duel.
• With obstacles: The running route to the box can be extended with obstacles such as a slalom course, a balance beam, or hurdles to overcome along the way.

Organizational notes

In addition to the Match! cards, a small box and cones are needed. The box is placed approximately 15 to 20 meters from the starting line, and the game takes about 5 to 15 minutes.
