In this circle layout activity, children match the English names of geometric shapes such as square, trapezoid, or semicircle to the corresponding pictures and short English descriptions, and arrange the cards in a circle. The descriptions mention features such as the number of corners and sides, right angles, or parallel sides.

What is included in the material

• Circle layout variant 1 with 12 shapes, each with an English name, a picture of the shape, and an English description, plus a center piece "2D SHAPES"
• Circle layout variant 2 with the same 12 shapes, where only the name and picture match, also with a center piece
• Instruction page with a brief explanation of the method and instructions for arranging the cards

Tips for using the material

The cards can be laid out randomly on the floor or on a large table, so that the children can match the corresponding cards into sets individually, in pairs, or in small groups, and the completed circle layout can be discussed together at the end.
