Description of the material

Würfel-Bingo is a running game for physical education that combines running, rolling dice, and bingo in a competition between teams. The children run one after another, roll the dice once, and cross off the number rolled on their team's bingo card. If the number has already been crossed off, they return immediately without making a mark. Back at the starting line, they tag the next person. Whoever has crossed off a complete row, column, or diagonal can shout "Bingo!" – the team that reaches this first wins.

This is included in the material

  • Game instructions with game description, required materials, duration, and variations
  • Würfel-Bingo templates with dice numbers in a smaller and a larger version

Tips for using the material

  • Other winning condition: Instead of the first bingo, a double bingo or a completely filled-in card can also determine the winner.
  • Running styles: The children can dribble a ball on the way or run in a specified form, such as backwards or crab-walking.

These skills are promoted

  • Speed when running back and forth
  • Recognizing numbers by searching for and crossing off the rolled number on the bingo card
  • Overview of rows, columns, and diagonals that are almost crossed off
  • Coordination when dribbling a ball, running backwards, and crab-walking

Organizational notes

The Würfel-Bingo templates, pens, and dice are required. The templates are placed on the ground at a distance of approximately 15 to 20 meters, and the two to four teams line up in a row. One round of the game takes approximately 5 to 15 minutes.

The Würfel-Staffel is also played with dice and templates; a running game with a thinking task in a team and a collection of other relay races are also suitable.
