Description of the material
This collection contains games and exercises for primary school hockey and classes above. Learners can balance the stick on their hand, dribble through a slalom course around poles, play one-two passes, and shoot at goals and cones. Most games require very little equipment, and some can also be played outdoors on the sports field.
What is included in the material
- Game and exercise formats for hockey and floorball, each with a game description, duration, required equipment, an illustration of the setup, and usually several variations
- Table of contents with all games, organized by the areas of ball and stick familiarity, ball control, passing and receiving, shooting, holistic game formats, and games without sticks
- Foreword with the aim of the collection and tips for use
Tips for using the material
- Lesson phases: The games and exercises can be flexibly incorporated into various phases, from warm-ups and skill training to small and large game formats.
- Variations: Many games can be adapted using the variations, for example with a smaller playing field, a specified dribbling style with forehand or backhand, direct passes without receiving the ball, or additional balls.
- Commands: In many games, the game leader can call out numbers, colors, types of fruit, or seasons, and the learners react by dribbling.
- Increasing passing difficulty: In the pass factory, the tasks can be gradually increased, from passing with receiving the ball to direct play, switching between forehand and backhand, and finally passing against the clock.
- Extra players: In 7-a-side ball and street hockey, additional people wearing bibs can always play with the team in possession of the ball or attacking.
- Similar skill level: In number hockey, the numbers can be distributed so that people with a similar skill level receive the same number.
- Additional tasks: In several games, anyone who loses the ball or is too slow can continue playing immediately after a short additional task, such as a lap around the playing field or squats.
These skills are promoted
- Ball control with forehand and backhand when dribbling through obstacle courses, cone goals, and open spaces
- Passing and receiving in pairs, circles, and groups, including direct play
- Goal shooting from different distances, also directly after a pass without receiving the ball
- Looking up from the ball, when learners look at objects in the hall while dribbling or react to hand signals
- Game ability in cooperation with their own team, for example during quick passing or when playing with extra or fewer players
To complement this, there is Floorball at stations with a challenge, Certificates for a hockey or floorball tournament, as well as the collections from the same series for basketball and football.
