Description of the material

With these Smalltalk Cards, children speak in English about cleaning and tidying up and answer questions such as “Have you ever mopped the floor?” or “Where does most of the dust hide?”. They take turns drawing a card from the face-down pile and formulating their own answers, using and expanding their previously learned vocabulary.

What is included

  • 23 Smalltalk Cards, each with an English question about cleaning and tidying up, from vacuuming and washing windows to spring cleaning
  • Instruction page on how to use the cards

Tips for using the material

The cards are ideal for starting a lesson and can be used in pairs or small groups.

The following skills are promoted

  • Vocabulary related to cleaning, with words such as vacuum, mop, dust, or ironing
  • Listening, while the other children answer their questions
