Description of the material

Beach Education Lotto is a lotto game for English lessons in which children review English words related to the beach, such as sandcastle, jellyfish or sunscreen. One by one, a child draws a picture card and says the vocabulary word, and the other children cross off the square if the picture is on their lotto card.

The material includes

  • Game instructions for small groups of 2 to 6 children
  • 36 lotto cards with pictures without words to cut out
  • 6 lotto cards with 6 pictures each
  • Vocabulary overview with all 36 English terms for the pictures

Tips for using the material

The cut-out lotto cards can be placed in a bag or distributed face down on the table, and the child who has crossed off all the squares on their lotto card wins.

These skills are promoted

  • Vocabulary: naming English words related to the beach, such as beach chair, parasol or swimming ring, from pictures
  • Listening comprehension: matching a spoken vocabulary word to the corresponding picture on your own lotto card

Further material on the beach is available as Bingo, Memo Game, Floppi and Vocabulary Poster.
