Description of the material

In the Drawing Game, children review familiar English words related to baking by having one person draw a term on the board while their team guesses it. The cards feature ingredients such as flour, sugar or cherries and kitchen utensils such as hand mixer, sieve or cookie cutter.

What is included

  • Game instructions for two teams, in which one person draws for one minute without speaking or writing while their team guesses the terms, earning one point for each correctly guessed term
  • 48 cards, each with an English term and a picture

Tips for using the material

  • Multiple terms per round: During their minute, the person drawing can reveal more cards and earn extra points with their team; then it is the other team's turn.
  • Number of rounds: The number of rounds to be played can be decided beforehand; the team with the most points wins at the end.
  • During the lesson: The game is ideal as a starter activity, a plenary activity or for cover lessons.

Organizational notes

The cards need to be cut out and placed face down in a stack. You will also need a timer, a pen and a board or whiteboard.
