Baking: Vocabulary Game for the English Classroom

The Vocabulary Game is a dice game for English lessons in which children move their game piece along a game board and say English words related to baking for the pictures, such as egg, rolling pin, whisk or flour. If you say the term correctly, you stay on the square; if you say it incorrectly, you move back one square, and the first person to reach the final square wins.

This is included in the material

• Game board from START to END with 27 baking pictures and event squares such as “Skip a turn!”, “+2 steps” or “-2 steps”, as well as three dice squares where you roll again
• Game instructions in German explaining the course of the game and the meaning of all event squares

The vocabulary game is ideal for use in a station-based activity, for example.

• Vocabulary related to ingredients such as butter and milk and to kitchen appliances such as kitchen scales, mixing bowl and dough scraper
• Pronunciation, because the children say the terms aloud
