Description of the material

Education Lotto is a lotto game with English autumn words such as pumpkin, hedgehog or rubber boots, in which a child takes turns drawing a picture card and saying the vocabulary word, while the others look at their lotto sheet and cross off the corresponding box.

This is included in the material

  • Game instructions for small groups of 2 to 6 children
  • 36 lotto cards to cut out, each with an autumn motif without a word
  • 6 lotto sheets with 6 picture boxes each, showing all 36 motifs together
  • Word list with all 36 English words and the corresponding pictures

Tips for using the material

The cut-out lotto cards can be placed in a bag or distributed face down on the table, and the child who has crossed off all the boxes on their lotto sheet wins.

These skills are promoted

  • Vocabulary: naming and recognizing English autumn words such as pear, owl or umbrella in pictures
  • Listening comprehension: matching the vocabulary word mentioned to the corresponding picture on your own lotto sheet

Organizational notes

Each group needs a sheet of lotto cards and one lotto sheet for each child.

To match, there is the Bingo, the Memo Game and the Word and Picture Cards on the topic of autumn.
