Description of the material

The Smalltalk Cards are conversation cards for English lessons, with which children can freely answer questions in English about the Arctic and Antarctic, such as “How does a penguin walk?” or “What do polar bears eat?” The questions range from polar bears, penguins and whales to igloos, icebergs and snowstorms, as well as the Titanic, and some ask for the children’s own imagination, such as whether a polar bear could be friends with a penguin.

What is included in the material

  • 23 Smalltalk Cards, each with an English question on the topic
  • Instructions with the procedure and tips for use

Tips for using the material

  • As an introduction: The cards are suitable as an introduction to a lesson, allowing children to use and expand their existing vocabulary.
  • In pairs or small groups: The learners take turns drawing a card from the face-down pile and answering the question on it.
