Description of the material

With the “Everyone Who …” game, children bring their winter break experiences to the circle. Anyone who went sledding, baked cookies, or built a snowman stands up and finds a new seat. This is a fun way to share holiday experiences when starting school, and it gets the whole group moving.

What’s Included

  • Game cards with “Everyone who …” statements about winter break experiences, each with a matching illustration
  • Overview of the statements on one page
  • Handout with game instructions and a game variation

Tips for Using the Material

  • In a circle of chairs or seats: While the game leader reads a statement, one child stands in the middle and tries to claim one of the empty seats.
  • As many rounds as you like: The game can be played for as long as you like. Anyone who doesn’t find a seat stays in the middle for the next round, and no one is allowed to return to their own seat.
  • Variety: The child in the middle can also read the cards, or they can make up their own experience.

These Skills Are Developed

  • Sharing experiences by standing up to show which statement applies to them
  • Listening carefully, as each statement must be related to their own holiday
  • Reacting quickly when standing up and looking for an empty seat

Other editions of the game are available after the autumn break, after the Easter break, and after the summer break; “Stand up if …” after the winter break works in a similar way.
