Description of the material
This eBook contains resistance band exercises for home and physical education, each with an exercise video. By placing the band around their feet, legs, or hands, learners can strengthen their legs, abdomen, back, shoulders, arms, chest, or entire body. They pull, push, or stretch against the resistance of the band.
What is included in the material
- Table of contents categorizing the exercises by body region
- Exercise pages with an illustration of the movement, descriptions of the starting position and movement, instructions on execution, breathing instructions, and a representation of the muscles being worked
- Exercise videos that can be accessed via the QR code on each exercise page
Tips for using the material
- Train both sides: Unilateral exercises can then be repeated with the other leg or arm, as specified on the exercise pages.
- Easier or more challenging: The chest press and seated shoulder external rotation are slightly easier on a chair than on an exercise ball; the side steps can be made more intense by bending the legs more.
- Towel as a check: During shoulder external rotation, a towel can be placed between the upper arm and the upper body, which must not fall, so that the upper arm remains close to the body.
These skills are promoted
- Strength in the legs, core, shoulders, arms, and chest, because every movement works against the tension of the band
- Core stability through exercises in a plank position and the conscious tightening of the abdomen
- Clean execution of movements, because the exercises are performed slowly, controlled, and without momentum
- Balance during single-leg exercises such as the single-leg deadlift
- Conscious breathing, coordinated with the individual phases of the movement
Organizational notes
In addition to the resistance band, many exercises require a soft surface, and some exercises require a chair or stool, an exercise ball, or a towel.
To complement this, there are additional partner fitness exercises, fitness exercises with simple equipment, and exercise cards with a video for a short workout.
