Description of the material

These posters for the sink show children how to wash their hands properly and when it is time to do so. Numbered pictures allow children to follow step by step what to do when washing their hands.

What is included in the material

  • "Wash Your Hands" poster with illustrated instructions, optionally without text or with a short instruction for each step, in portrait and landscape format
  • "We wash our hands when..." poster with illustrated everyday situations in which hand washing is necessary
  • Handout with brief tips on using the posters

Tips for using the material

  • Next to the sink: The posters can be hung in the toilet or in the classroom next to the sink, so that children are regularly reminded to wash their hands properly.
  • Colors and versions: Since the posters are designed in different colors and versions, a suitable version can be selected.
  • Personal adjustments: The posters can be customized individually.

These skills are promoted

  • Correct sequence when washing hands: wet, soap up, rinse, and dry
  • Thorough soap application, for long enough and also between the fingers
  • Recognizing occasions when hand washing is necessary, such as after using the toilet, after blowing their nose, or before eating

To complement this, there are toilet signs for schools, picture cards for waste bins in the classroom, and classroom rules as picture cards.
