Spring: Vocabulary Wheel of Fortune (English)

The Wheel of Fortune can be used to playfully practice vocabulary that has already been learned. There are several ways the Wheel of Fortune can be used in the classroom, for example:

  1. Vocabulary practice:
A child from the class spins the Wheel of Fortune. Another child is chosen and says the word. If they say the word correctly, they may then spin the wheel, and the game continues.

  2. Writing:
A child spins the Wheel of Fortune, and everyone else writes the word in their notebook. At the end, the terms are compared and corrected together.

  3. Storytelling:
The children incorporate the word into a short story or a grammatically correct sentence.

  4. Asking a question:
The children ask a question about the word. Another child can answer the question if necessary.

  5. Quiz:
The Wheel of Fortune is used for a quiz. Two children always compete against each other. Whoever says the word correctly first gets a point. Alternatively, the quiz can also be played in teams.

  6. Bingo:
The children write nine vocabulary words in a 3x3 grid. Then the Wheel of Fortune is spun. If a child has the spun word in their grid, they may cross out the corresponding square. If a child has three words in a row, column, or diagonal, they shout "Bingo!" and have won.
