The Smalltalk Cards are a fun way to make English lessons more engaging and to improve speaking skills. They are particularly useful as a warm-up activity at the start of a lesson to encourage learners to speak and help them use and expand their existing vocabulary. The cards can be used either in pairs (partner work) or in small groups.
You will receive the cards as PDF, PowerPoint, and Keynote files and can customize them as needed.
How does it work?
The learners take turns drawing a card from the face-down pile and answering the question asked. This helps develop not only free speaking, but also listening skills and the ability to formulate creative answers.
