In the Sea / Im Meer: Matching Circle (English)
A matching circle is a creative and hands-on way to reinforce vocabulary in language lessons through play. Children actively engage with new words by matching the appropriate terms and images to one another. This not only helps them practice the vocabulary but also deepens their understanding and helps them learn it in context.
Simply print, laminate, and cut out the template. The material is available as a PDF and PowerPoint file.
Instructions:
- Place all the cards (e.g. word – image – description) in a random order on the floor or a large table.
- The children work individually, in pairs, or in small groups. The goal is to match the cards to create complete sets and arrange them in a circle.
- Once all the matches have been checked, the completed matching circle can be discussed together.
