Description of the material

Here you will find a bingo game about farm animals for primary school English lessons. In addition to animals such as cow, goose or donkey, things from the farm also appear, such as tractor, bucket or haystack. A child draws a vocabulary card and reads the English word aloud, while the others listen carefully and cross off the corresponding picture on their bingo card. Whoever has completely crossed off a row, column or diagonal shouts “Bingo!” as quickly as possible.

What is included in the material

  • Game instructions with procedure, winning rule and a variant for quick implementation
  • Vocabulary cards with English word and picture
  • Bingo cards with pictures in two sizes: 3x3 and 4x4 squares

Tips for using the material

  • Winning: After the bingo call, you can check whether all squares have been crossed off correctly – then the child has won.
  • Quick implementation: Without cards, the game leader can simply print out the template and read out the terms in any order while the children cross off the squares.
  • Review vocabulary: The bingo is ideal for playfully reviewing the English words.

These skills are promoted

  • Listening comprehension by listening carefully when the English words are read aloud
  • Farm vocabulary by matching the heard word and picture
  • Reading aloud English words when drawing the vocabulary cards

Organizational notes

The vocabulary cards are placed in a bag for drawing, and each child receives their own bingo card.

The Memo Game, the Domino and the Word and Picture Cards also suit the same vocabulary for introducing the words.
