Description of the material

The Smalltalk Game Breakfast is a board game for English lessons in which children answer English questions about breakfast, such as about their favorite spread, their ideal Sunday breakfast, or whether they prefer sweet or savory. They take turns rolling the dice, moving their game pieces across the board, and answering the question on the space where they land, until the first person reaches the final space and wins.

What is included

  • Game board with start and finish spaces, questions about breakfast, and action spaces such as “Skip a turn!” or “Move two steps back!”
  • Game instructions in German explaining how to play
  • Two additional versions of the game board, one of which comes with the game instructions

Tips for using the material

The game can be played by two or more people.

The following skills are developed

  • Vocabulary related to breakfast, such as toast, jam, muesli, spread, or smoothie
  • Speaking, because the children give their own answers to the questions and, for example, describe how they like their eggs

Other Smalltalk Games are available on the topics of Lunch & Dinner, Pizza, and Sweets.
