Description of the material

Floppi is a vocabulary game for English lessons in which children take turns drawing picture cards from a bag and naming the English breakfast words on them, such as pancakes, porridge or orange juice. If they name it correctly, they may keep the card, but if they draw a Floppi card, they must put all the cards they have collected back into the bag, so that luck also plays a role alongside vocabulary.

What is included in the material

  • Game instructions with the course of play, the rules for the Floppi card and the end of the game
  • 36 picture cards with breakfast terms, each showing only the picture
  • 6 Floppi cards
  • Vocabulary overview with all 36 pictures and the English terms as answers

Tips for using the material

  • In a circle or at their desks: The game can be played in a circle or directly at the regular seats while the teacher passes the bag around.
  • End of the game: If the game does not come to an end on its own, it can be time-limited or ended by the teacher.

Organizational notes

A bag is needed for the game, in which all the cut-out and, if necessary, laminated cards will go.

On the topic of breakfast, there is also the Memo Game, Bingo and Dominoes.
