Autumn / Fall: Accordion Fold for English Class

The Accordion Fold is a craft template for an accordion book about English autumn words such as squirrel, chestnut or rubber boots, which the children cut out, glue together and fold along the lines like an accordion. When unfolded, they can see all the vocabulary words with pictures at a glance.

What is included in the material

• Instruction page with four-step craft instructions and tips for use
• Accordion book template, version 1 with 23 autumn pictures, each with an English word and a title box reading "Autumn"
• Accordion book template, version 2 with the same pictures but without words, allowing the children to fill in the blanks
• Mini accordion book as a smaller version, also available as version 1 with words and version 2 without words

Tips for using the material

The finished accordion book can be taken anywhere and used individually or with a partner, for example by quizzing each other and going through the words together.

The following skills are promoted

• Vocabulary related to autumn animals, weather, clothing, fruit and vegetables, such as fox, rain, umbrella and potato
• Fine motor skills when cutting out, gluing together and folding the strips
