Description of the material

With this bingo game, children practice English words for shapes such as triangle, hexagon, heart, and crescent. One child draws a vocabulary card and reads the word aloud, while the others look for the corresponding shape on their bingo card, which shows only pictures, and cross it off until someone completes a row, column, or diagonal and shouts “Bingo!”

Included in the material

  • 20 vocabulary cards to cut out, each with a picture and an English word, including trapezoid, parallelogram, ellipse, and octagon
  • 32 bingo cards with 9 picture squares each
  • 32 bingo cards with 16 picture squares each
  • Game instructions with a quick version in which the game leader reads out the terms in any order without vocabulary cards

These skills are promoted

  • Vocabulary: matching English words for 20 shapes with the corresponding picture
  • Listening comprehension, because the children check whether they have the shape on their card for each word read aloud
  • Reading and pronunciation: whoever draws a vocabulary card reads the English word aloud

On the topic of 2D Shapes, there is also a Memo Game, a Domino game, and word and picture cards.
