Description of the material
“Everyone who!” is an icebreaker game for primary school with statements about hobbies, preferences, family, and experiences. If a statement such as “Everyone who likes eating pizza” applies to a child, they stand up and find an empty seat. At the same time, the child without a seat tries to grab one. This gets the group moving, and the children can strike up conversations with each other in the process.
What is included in the material
- Game cards with illustrated “Everyone who…” statements
- Overview with all statements at a glance
- Handout with game instructions and a variant
Tips for using the material
- For getting to know each other: The game is ideal for the first days of primary school as well as for new classes and study groups.
- In a circle of chairs or sitting in a circle: The children can play in a circle of chairs or sitting in a circle; one selected child stands in the middle at the beginning.
- Changing seats: It is important that no one returns to their original seat. Anyone who cannot find an empty seat stays in the middle, and the next round can begin.
- Saying the statements yourself: Instead of the game leader, the child in the middle can also read a card or come up with a suitable statement.
- Game duration: The game can be continued for as long as you like.
These skills are promoted
- Discovering commonalities with other children in the group
- Getting to know others through their interests, preferences, and experiences
- Listening and reacting: checking whether a statement applies to yourself and grabbing an empty seat
- Speaking when reading a card or coming up with your own statement
