Description of the material

The Summer Holidays Small Talk game is a dice game in which children answer questions about their holiday experiences. With this post-summer holiday game, they can move their game piece around the board and talk about camping, animals, adventures or the funniest moment of their holidays.

What is included

  • Game board with start and finish squares, question squares about the summer holidays and action squares for skipping, moving forward and going back
  • Instruction sheet with brief game instructions

Tips for using the material

  • Post-holiday icebreaker: The game is ideal as a relaxed start to lessons after the summer holidays.
  • Take turns: Players can take turns rolling the dice and moving forward accordingly; whoever lands on a question square answers the question, and whoever reaches the finish square first wins.

These skills are promoted

  • Talking about yourself when answering questions about your own experiences
  • Linguistic expressiveness through free answers to open questions
  • Getting to know each other, because everyone talks about their holidays and gets into conversations with one another

Organizational notes
