Description of the material

These posters provide a clear overview of the complete workshop rules for workshop and technology classes. Each rule is stated as a short sentence using the informal "you" form and accompanied by a picture, organized by safety, behavior, and order. When hung up in the workshop, the rules remain visible in everyday classroom use, and if necessary, a simple gesture toward the relevant rule will suffice. The posters are also suitable for induction at the beginning of the school year. They are intended for lower secondary school students in grades 5 to 10.

What is included:

  • Teacher's guide: guidance for the teacher
  • Posters: five portrait-format posters containing a total of 42 rules, each with a picture
  • Safety: two posters, including Do not enter the machine room without permission! and Activate the emergency stop in case of danger!
  • Behavior: one poster, including Do not hold tools while instructions are being given!
  • Order: two posters, including Separate waste by material!

Uses in workshop and technology classes

The posters can be displayed permanently in the workshop, for example next to the door or in the machine room. As a sheet for the folder, they complement the display.

Learning objectives and skills promoted

  • Rules: know and be able to explain the workshop rules
  • Categorize: assign rules to the three areas of workshop rules
  • Emergency: know how the emergency stop, escape routes, and reporting of injuries work

The same rules are also available individually as Workshop rules: 40+ rule cards; these are complemented by the workshop duties.

Enjoy trying them out and have a great start in the workshop!
