Description of the material

With the fitness Advent calendar, every door in Advent becomes a short exercise break in primary school. The children can do jumping jacks, circle their arms and hips, do squats, or stand on one leg like a flamingo.

What is included in the material

  • Advent calendar as a start slide with numbered doors
  • Exercise slides for each door with fitness exercises, each with a picture and name

Tips for using the material

  • Open doors with a click: The door of the day can be clicked directly in the calendar and leads to the appropriate exercises; clicking "Back" returns to the calendar.
  • Exercises one after another: The numbered exercises on a slide can be performed in order.
  • Fixed exercise time: Each exercise can be done for 30 seconds, with the flamingo and one-legged jumps for 15 seconds per side.

These skills are promoted

  • Strength through squats, lunges, push-ups, and triceps dips
  • Balance with the balance scale, flamingo, and one-legged jumps
  • Flexibility when circling arms, shoulders, and hips, when doing side stretches, and "hands to the floor"
  • Coordination with jumping jacks, criss-cross, and hopping

Organizational notes

A chair is needed for push-ups and triceps dips, respectively.

To match this, there is an Advent calendar with a children's yoga exercise each day, a Christmas mini-workout, and movement cards for breaks in class.
