The small talk cards are a fun way to make English lessons more lively and to improve speaking skills. They are particularly well suited as a warm-up for a lesson to encourage learners to speak and to help them use and expand their existing vocabulary. The cards can be used both in pairs (partner work) and in small groups.
You will receive the cards as PDF, PowerPoint, and Keynote files and can customize them as needed.
How does it work?
The learners take turns drawing a card from the face-down pile and answering the question asked. This develops not only free speaking, but also listening skills and the ability to formulate creative answers.
